All customer account activity can be managed through PeopleSoft Production.
Checking invoice status
What other activities might fall under this category? Why might you want to do this? You can use PeopleSoft Production to check to see whether or not an invoice has been paid.
Navigate to the item details page
- Access the main menu
- Select accounts receivable
- Select customer accounts
- Select item information
- Select view/update item details
Enter your invoice information
- Confirm that you have selected the correct business unit
- Enter your invoice number, including the prefix (INV, MO, ETC, etc) in the item ID field
- Click search
View invoice activity
- Click the item activity tab
- Tip: You can click view all to view a complete history of the invoice's activity
- Tip: If an item has been paid or a credit has been applied the status of the invoice will be closed
Viewing customer history and invoice summaries
Both of these tasks can be accomplished by using the accounts receivable item listing page with different search options in PeopleSoft Production.
Navigate to the item list page
- Access the main menu
- Select accounts receivable
- Select customer accounts
- Select item information
- Select item list
Enter your customer information
- Enter the customer number (include leading zeros if applicable) into the customer field
- If viewing a customer's history:
- Select all or closed from the status drop down
- ✓ Tip: A status of all would return a list of all invoices billed to the customer, while closed would return a list of all invoices paid by the customer or close by a credit
- ✓ Tip: This is a good way to determine whether or not a customer has ever had any invoices written off; written off invoices are denoted with a WO at the end of the invoice
- If retrieving a summary of a customer's open invoices and credits:
- Select open from the status drop down
- Highlight and then remove your business unit
- Click search
