Standard agreements

This is the preferred type of agreement. Forms for these agreements are simple, fillable documents, the language of these agreements has been pre-approved by General Counsel and the process for their approval is generally much faster.

Non-standard agreements

These agreements require formal legal approval to execute, and may take longer to process. Should the agreement need to go to General Counsel for approval, our office coordinates the review and works with General Counsel to answer any questions they may have.

Guest speakers or lecturers

This is a standard form used for people giving speeches or lectures at the University.

Performance agreement

This is a standard form used for entertainment events such as concerts.

• If the party you are contracting with is not a Missouri resident, please be aware that state law requires the University to withhold a portion of the payment for remission to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Consulting agreement

This agreement can be used for any type of professional service such as editing, proofreading, development of marketing plans, web page development, training, etc.

• If the individual you propose to contract with is also a University employee, that individual must comply with the University’s conflict of interest policy prior to the execution of the agreement. See the Business Policy and Procedure manual sections 1:140 and 1:141 for more information regarding conflict of interest.

Hotel agreements

Booking individual hotel rooms for University travelers is not typically considered a contractual activity. See the Business Policy and Procedure manual sections 4:010-4:055 regarding guidance related to travel reimbursement, including lodging.
